A Little Playing Machine

I like reading about Mommy's school.
Daddy can read and so can I.
No, Mommy I will not look at you. I want to hear the story Daddy is reading.
I am a little playing machine or so Mommy says. I sit and empty out my toy boxes at least five or six times a day. It is a game between Mommy and me. She fills them up with my toys and I tip them over, and so the game goes on. I also like it when Mommy and Daddy chase after me on their hands and knees. I squeal with delight and then crawl away again. Another favorite thing is to look out the window and watch the cars and people go by. There are so many more people outside now that it is getting warmer. I can't wait until I can play outside and go to a park. Mommy keeps saying that she is going to take me and I don't know what it is.

Last weekend was our first open house and three couples came through. Two of the couples liked the house. We hope they want to come back for another look. This weekend we are having Daddy's Aunt Beth and Uncle Stan come and stay with us. They are visiting their new grandbaby. His name is Abram and he is cute. I got to see him today. Mommy and Daddy couldn't believe I was ever that small. Babies grow up fast they say. Mommy had a saying that use to hang in my room that said "Cleaning and scrubbing can wait for tomorrow for babies grow up we've learned to our sorrow, so quiet down cobwebs and dust go to sleep for I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep." This hung in her room when she was a baby. Grandma Sara gave it to her when I came home from the hospital.

Out for a Walk in the Sun!!!

When Mommy got home from work, she called Aunt Emily to see if she and Sara wanted to go for a walk. They said YES! So Mommy put me in a new warm coat and loaded me in the car and we were off to their house to go walking. Sara and I got to sit in our joggers and talk to each other and the wide world around us. I think the Mommies enjoyed walk and talking. The sun shone down on us and wind stayed away until the very end of the walk. This weekend we are getting together so that the big people can talk and the best part is Sara and I can play together. Mommy counted and she only has 12 more weeks of school left. Then she will be home everyday with me. I am excited and so is she, although it will be hard for her to leave her students behind.
After our walk I ate a big dinner of sweet potatoes, cheese, a whole wheat wrap, and lots of milk. I am getting better and better at my sippy cup everyday. We are having an open house this weekend so come and stop by from 11:30 until 12:30 at our house. We won't be here but you can see how clean it is. Mommy and Daddy are hoping the house sells quickly.

I am tired of this cupcake. Please put me to bed!

Milk Does A Body Good!

I am now drinking milk from a cup instead of a bottle of formula. The transition has gone pretty well according to Mommy. Daddy has a different opinion. I like to drink the milk only when Mommy is around. I have now been a one year old for a whole week. My favorite new thing is lie on the floor and kicking my feet and screaming. I think I am very funny. Mommy and Daddy don't think it is very funny.

Last week Friday, we had some people go through our house. Mommy and Daddy cleaned and packed things away like crazy people. The best part was I got to spend the day at Grandpa Buck's house. They were not home during the day but they came home in the afternoon and I got to play with them while Mommy and Daddy went to pick up our Kia. My Great Uncle Robert was fixing it. Mommy and Daddy are glad to have two cars again.

Today we heard that the people who went through the house liked it. We hope they come back and want to see it again. We are having an open house on Saturday, so Mommy and Daddy will have clean really well again this weekend.

Happy Birthday to Me Happy Birthday to Me!

I am One Year old today. Mommy and Daddy can't believe how fast this year has gone. I had my birthday party yesterday. I went to Grandpa Buck and Grandma Sara's. First Daddy had to preach then it was time to get in the car. When I got to G and G's house it was full of people. I gave a great big smile to Grandma the Great. Then it was time for lunch. I was not that interested in my food there were to many people to watch. After my bottle the big people ate while I played with my wrapped presents. After lunch Mommy and Daddy said I could open up my presents. I had a lot of fun ripping off the paper. I wanted eat the paper but Mommy kept grabbing it out of my mouth. I got the Fisher Price School Bus and Boat from the Terpstra gang. Grandma Ruth and Grandma the Great gave me some new clothes. Marlin brought me some bubbles which I am really excited about. Finally, Grandpa and Grandma gave me the Fisher Price Garage. I had a lot of fun playing with them yesterday and today. After the presents Mommy put me in my seat and gave me a cupcake. I had a lot of fun eating and more importantly smashing my cake all over the place. I was not sure what to do at first because everyone was looking at me. Then Mommy put some in my mouth and it tasted so yummy. I decided it was okay to eat some more.

Tattoo

This week I got my first tattoo. (Don't worry it is only the stick-on kind!) Mommy had received it from one of her students for Valentine's Day. We both thought it would be funny if she put in on my arm and then we told Daddy that she had gotten me a tattoo. When Daddy saw it he just laughed.

Mommy had her first full week of school since the middle of January. Otherwise she has had at least one snow day each week. We both liked all the snow days that she had off. This weekend we are celebrating my first birthday! Tomorrow we are going to Grandpa Buck and Grandma Sara's for a party. Then on Monday, Mommy and Daddy are going to give me a special party for the three of us. I will let you know how the parties go and what I get. I have found presents hidden in different places but I can't get them open no matter how hard I try.
