Daddy's Cars

When we were visiting Grandpa and Grandma Van Hill back in January they gave Daddy his old Matchbox Cars to take home. About a week ago when Mommy and I were downstairs changing the wash load I found them asked to take one of the boxes upstairs. I have had so much fun playing with them every day. I especially love the ambulance and fire truck ones.
Yesterday, was Daddy's birthday and I sang happy birthday to him all day long. In the morning Mommy told me to go and say "Happy Birthday Daddy," instead of saying that I asked Daddy if we were having "donuts for breakfast". We did this for my birthday and I remembered it. Mommy and Daddy can't forget anything any more. So Daddy went out and got us all donuts.

He and Mommy went out for dinner together and had a very nice time and they even got me a present. It was a little fishing net or butterfly net for this summer. I have been taking it with me wherever I go today. Mommy and I went out today and I got to buy Daddy some chocolate. I paid for it with money from my wallet. I was very proud of myself. I took a great nap this afternoon it was three and half hours long. After my nap it was time to play outside in the sunshine.

Today, I also set up a great lunch for all of us to have. I knew that Mommy was not feeling well and I wanted to help out the best I could.

Swimming Lessons

Mommy and I have been going to swimming lessons at Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam for the past 4 weeks. I love being in the water and I have learned so much. In the beginning I wore water wings and a water belt to help hold me up and by the end I didn't need the water wings any more.
My teacher was Ms. Peggy and then there were two other mom's with their boys. I learned how to kick my feet and paddle with my hands. Mommy and I would do 2 laps of the pool on my tummy and then one on my back. Then it was time to jump in from the shallow end of the pool. After five jumps we swam to the deep end and Mommy would gently drop me in off the starting blocks. We would do five of those and on the last one I would try and get away from Mommy so I could swim in the deep part of the pool. Mommy and I would swim back to the shallow end where we would sing The Wheels on the Bus and Ring Around the Rosie. I would ask every time to sing Rosie.

Then Ms. Peggy would hand out the kick boards and I would swim holding on to the board and blow bubbles. The class would end with choosing a toy throw and then swim after. I like the whales the best because when you would squeeze them water would come out their spout. Lessons are now over for the next two weeks and then they will start up again and I can't wait.

More Birthday Fun

My favorite place to read in the basement.

Waiting to open presents, because Daddy was in a meeting.

This weekend Grandpa Buck and Grandma Sara came up to see me and my parents. I could hardly wait for them to get here. I asked all week long when they were coming. Mommy told me they were coming on Friday. I woke up at 5:00 am on Friday morning. When Mommy came in the room I told her it was Friday and asked if Buck was here yet. Mommy tired to get me to fall back asleep but I won't so we got up and got an early start on cleaning the house. Daddy got up at the normal time. After my nap that afternoon we played outside until Grandpa and Grandma arrived. Mommy and I were chopping up the snow banks. I got to open my presents, I got lots of summer clothes and some more Play-Dough. That night Mommy made pizza and we watched Cars while we ate our pizza. After the pizza was eaten then it was on to cake.

Saturday, we got up and let Mommy sleep for a while. When she came down we made waffles and bacon it was so yummy. After breakfast we headed to Beaver Dam to look at tables for the kitchen. I took a good nap and when I got up we went outside to play again. Grandpa and Grandma played cars with me.
Sunday, I woke up with icky eyes so I stayed home from church with Grandpa and Grandma. Daddy preached and Mommy gave the children's message. After, church Grandpa Buck made the best steaks. I had to say bye to them after lunch. It was a great time. I love it when my Grandparents visit.

My Birthday Party with my Cars Cake!!!!

This weekend Grandpa Gil and Grandma Alina came in from Sioux Falls for my birthday. On Friday while I was taking my nap Grandpa and Grandma arrived. I was very excited to see them it did take me a few minutes to wake up and then I was off and playing with them.

I even got to open my presents. I got play dough toys, bubbles, a word game, and a cool Lighting Mc Queen book. They also brought me a cool Lighting Mc Queen tent to play in. Then is was time to play outside because is was so warm on Friday.

I jumped in the puddles, rode in my car, kicked my soccer, and played basketball. Mommy took a shovel and tried to break down the huge snow piles again. Grandpa, Grandma, and Daddy watched my play. Then they took us to Pizza Ranch for supper. I had fish for the first time and I liked it.

Saturday morning Grandma wasn't feeling very well so she didn't eat cinnamon rolls with us. About mid-morning we went to the thrift store. After lunch Grandma and I both took a nap. I woke up and Grandpa Gil came up and got me I sat with him in the big brown rocking chair and fell asleep again. Mommy finally had Grandpa wake me up about 4:00.

I had gone down for my nap at 12:30. I needed my sleep because I knew my friends were coming for my party. About 5:30 my friends showed up for a pizza party. They loved my Cars cake.

We all sat at the table and had pizza, lemonade, and I finally got to eat my Cars cake! We all went to church this morning and then right after church Grandpa and Grandma left because the weather.

Happy Birthday to Me! 2 years old!

I turned 2 years old today. Mommy and Daddy can't believe how time has flown by. This morning I got to snuggle in bed with both of them and they told me how special I am. Then we all headed downstairs for a breakfast of donuts that Daddy had bought yesterday.
After my yummy donut and juice it was time to get ready for swimming lessons. Mommy and I drove to Beaver Dam and we were the only ones at the lessons for the first 15 minutes. I loved jumping into the water and when Mommy would go under the water and I went under once. I my favorite part is when we sing Wheels and the Bus and Ring around the Rosie. After that is was home. Mommy and I played together until lunch time. I got to pick my lunch, I chose tomato soup with grilled cheese.

After eating my lunch I got to open my presents. My parents got me the best presents the characters from Cars the movie. I loved playing with them and I even surprised Mommy and Daddy with how many of their names I knew.

Then it was time for cake. Mommy bought a little alligator cake from Wal-Mart yesterday. We all got to dig in and enjoy it. After cake I played for a while and then Mommy tried to put me down for my nap but I was on a sugar high.

She let me play for a while longer and then it was time for nap. Tonight Mommy, Daddy and I sat down and I got to watch Cars with them. It has been a great birthday! Thanks to everyone who called to say Happy Birthday and those who wrote on Mommy's facebook page.

Update

Here is an update on what has been happen over the last few days. When I got back from MI I started swimming lessons. I have had two lessons last week and I am looking forward to more this week.

Tomorrow is my birthday and I can't wait for it. I have been convinced that Mommy and Daddy have been hiding presents all around the house for me. (No)

This morning I woke up and was begging Daddy for cakes with frosting. Mommy made some cinnamon logs for us to eat. Then it was off to Fond du Lac to shop. I think that Mommy and Daddy bought some things for my birthday. Daddy kept trying to keep looking at other things while Mommy put things in the cart upside down so I couldn't see them. We went for Lunch to Helen's Kitchen I got a pancake with M&M's on it for the eyes and nose. Then while we were talk to some people from church out waitress overheard that it is my birthday tomorrow and she got some other waitress together and they came out with a cupcake and candle and sang Happy Birthday to me. I was shy until they left and then I ate almost the whole cupcake myself and I had eaten a lot of my pancake already. I have been on an eating and sleeping streak for the past few days. Mommy and Daddy are very happy with me.

I can't wait for tomorrow and the weekend to see my Grandparents!!!!
